Kiva is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating world-wide poverty through microfinancing and loans. With individuals lending as little as $25 to help create opportunity, Kiva has since its founding in 2005, received funds from over 565,079 lenders and provided over $200 million in loans to 58 different countries. Kiva believes in providing safe, affordable access to capital to those in need. Kiva is funded through the support of lenders whose optional donations go directly toward funding loans. Kiva does not take any compensation nor does Kiva charge interest to those administering the loans on the ground. There are many ways to get involved including making a loan, purchasing a Kiva card, or working or volunteering for the organization both locally and abroad.

Thanks to Heifer's donations, hundreds of families receive milk, eggs, fresh produce and the capital to build new homes and businesses. Families who for generations knew only poverty send their children to school instead of to the fields. BEVERLY DAVIS SUPPORTS OPEN TABLE

Founded in 1989, Open Table’s mission is to address hunger and social isolation in our area. The organization strives to build a community of support for guests who face many challenges associated with poverty. Some needs are small - a notebook for a school project, a winter jacket or boots, or transportation. Many guests face crises in housing, fuel assistance, summer child care, and critical health situations. For these issues, Open Table draws on the wider community of support. Open Table offers weekly community supper programs and pantries in Concord and Maynard, Massachusetts to more than 225 guests, including many children - no questions asked
