I have talked about many neighborhoods and areas that I believe are terrific in Concord. A wonderful family on Maple Street in the West End asked me to represent their interests and sell their home. For those of you who do not know, Maple Street is on the West End of West Concord’s vibrant downtown shopping district. It is an absolutely delightful street as it abuts the East side of Rideout Park. Recently, I sold much of Conant Street on the West side of the park. The East side of the park is a bit quieter and closer to the downtown district. That said, any access to Rideout is terrific whether you walk there or abut it. If you abut Rideout, you are one of the lucky few as there are very few homes that do. Having tennis and basketball courts, as well as playgrounds and ball fields, connected to your property is pretty sweet if you ask me. It is Vibrant with a capital V. Steps away from grabbing a meal or coffee and steps away from park amenities…what else could you ask for?
This home was new construction in 2014 and reflects that classic Village Colonial style. The owners have made upgrades since it was built so it certainly continues to feel like a new home. The total square footage is a whopping 4,543 with 1,221 of those feet being below grade. There are three floors above grade so this house does not feel overwhelming in any way and truly feels like a comfortable family home. The first floor offers the open kitchen, dining and family room space that tends to work for today’s family lifestyle, plus a formal dining and living room. All of the rooms flow into each other nicely. The owners used the formal living room as a first floor office even though there is an office on the second floor. That office is in addition to four wonderful bedrooms on the second floor. The primary suite has a walk-in closet and primary bath. Two of the bedrooms share a family bath with the office. Last but not least, the fourth bedroom has an ensuite bath. A laundry room completes the second floor. Again I ask, what else can you ask for?
The third floor offers an open bonus room and the basement is finished as a significant recreation room. All of that with a two car garage! This house truly has it all if you have been searching for a home in the West End that is close to everything.
When it comes to the backyard, it is ample for an in-town house. There is literally a backyard gate that opens to the tennis courts at Rideout. Need to walk the dog? What a place to do it. Kids want to run around? Shoot hoops? Let them head to the backyard and open the gate. What is really nice is that the backyard still retains the privacy many seek. Offering both trees and a fence, you do not feel the Park when sitting on the back deck. This family also did a terrific job with the front landscaping and walkways. Nothing cookie cutter here when it comes to the landscaping that leads you to the front porch entry. It is tastefully executed.
Please come take a look if you are on the hunt for a great house in an amazing community. It will certainly be worthwhile.
Happy Summer!
